DIESEL PICKUP TRUCKS

Never before has the proper oil additive package been so instrumental in protecting todays high performance diesel engines. With the EPA mandating the removal of key lubricating components such as Zinc, Sulfur and many more from today's diesel fuel and engine oils the consumer has been left with only one choice for complete protection. REV-X performance oil additive fills that gap and then blows the previous specifications away with above and beyond performance and protection for any lubricated component in your pride and joy!

Benefits of using REV-X Performance Oil Additive in Diesel Pickups:

  • Increased Efficiency.
  • Increased Horsepower and Torque.
  • Greatly Improved Cold Start Operation.
  • Smoother Operation of all Treated Components.
  • Dramatic Reductions in Component Wear.
  • Reduced Thermal Temperatures.
  • Reduced Turbo Spool Times.
  • Enhances FORD PowerStroke Injection Systems for Proper Operation.

Whether you are looking for additional protection, efficiency or an increase in performance to make your truck run better than it did when it was new. REV-X Performance Oil Additive IS the only real world solution.

*Add DISTANCE+ Diesel Fuel additive to achieve a complete performance upgrade of your fuel as well.*

POWERSTROKE DIESEL ENGINES

MISFIRE, LACK OF POWER, BUCK/JERK, EXCESSIVE SMOKE,
CRANK/NO START - SERVICE TIPS

Tech. Service Bulletin

Bulletin # RPI 2010-07-001
Rev 1.1

FORD EXCURSION, F-SUPER DUTY and E-SERIES VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 7.3L, 6.0L and 6.4L DIESEL ENGINES

ISSUE:

Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms: MISFIRE, LACK OF POWER, BUCK/JERK, EXCESSIVE SMOKE, LONG CRANK, HARD START, CRANK/NO START. There are several potential causes for the symptoms: Low or negative fuel pressure, Combustion gas entering the fuel system, Erratic high pressure oil supply, and/or Lack of - or low high pressure oil supply.

ACTION:

Follow the appropriate Ford recommended diagnostic procedures to ascertain the most likely cause of the symptom and proceed accordingly. If diagnostic procedures confirm a high pressure oil supply issue – low flow, sluggish, erratic flow or check valve malfunction – as indicated by a sticking injector spool valve or valves, read the rest of this bulletin completely.

OBSERVATION:

Properly matched oil viscosity to the operating condition, and proper oil and fuel filtration are paramount to the longevity of every Powerstroke component, but even the best fluids and filters available are not keeping up with the demands of today's diesels. The EPA mandated it, and oil manufactures have made some very detrimental changes to diesel fuels and lubricants in the past few years. The result is manifesting itself in our engines – and wallets. By nature, a diesel engine is very demanding of oil. Carbon buildup and coking that naturally occur add to the demands. Now, introduce an oil pressure in excess of 3000psi – passing at high volumes through increasingly small passages. Electro-statics are also naturally occurring in these small passages, which just begs the already deficient oil to 'sludge' or 'fry' in them – causing the passage to grow smaller and smaller – restricting flow even more. Restricted or sluggish high pressure oil flow to and through the injectors is causing a multitude of difficult to diagnose symptoms.

SOLUTION:

Although the following statements and procedures may solve the problem completely and on its own, we suggest performing all needed mechanical repairs prior to following through with this bulletin. Use the procedures and products described below as an 'insurance policy' against potential comebacks and dissatisfied customers. The outlined procedures have been proven to promote customer loyalty; to both brand and service centers. Bolster and maintain Ford brand loyalty.

After completing all necessary mechanical repairs, replace the engine oil and filters with the Ford approved API Service Category oil (viscosity matched to operating conditions) and a Ford OE filter.
Now add 8oz. of RevX Performance Oil Additive to the crankcase.

RevX Performance Oil Additive is the replacement for what the oil industry has taken out or left out of todays diesel rated oils. Among other things, RevX contains a detergent agent that will clean all the internally oiled components, pumps, valves and passages, and restore oil flow and function in just a few heat cycles. This detergent agent is very effective and very unique: Effective in that it quickly and efficiently dissolves and removes sludge, coking and carbon buildups, Unique - in that it does all this without acids and without attacking or reducing Zinc. RevX also contains the additional anti-foaming agents needed to prevent air bubbles from forming in the high pressure oil. RevX not only solves problems – it eliminates comebacks by preventing the conditions that caused the problem. RevX will also go to work at removing gum, varnish and carbon deposits throughout the entire engine – resulting in better compression, smoother quieter idle and noticeably better acceleration. RevX has also been known to clean and lubricate the center and variable vane sections of the turbo so well that customers notice reduced boost lag time and more power. An increase in fuel economy may also be noticed.

PROCEDURE:

Perform a complete oil change and filter service today (install RevX) , following all needed mechanical repairs. Then it is advisable to schedule the vehicle back for a follow-up inspection and oil change at 5,000 miles or normal intervals. At that time, perform a normal oil and filter change service, adding RevX again, and resume normal maintenance intervals. Add RevX Performance Oil Additive to all subsequent services at the 8oz. additive to 12-15 qts. oil rate.

ALTERNATE METHOD:

In a customer pay situation where customer is unable (financially) or unwilling to have mechanical repairs made, some success may be achieved by just using the RevX Oil Additive. Install RevX into the crankcase (added to existing oil – no need to start with fresh oil) and run the engine (normal operation) until the symptoms diminish or disappear (several heat cycles over a period of a couple of days). Resume normal maintenance intervals adding RevX at each service.

NOTE: Customers that are utilizing oil analysis testing services have routinely reported safely increasing their drain intervals to double (or more) their mileage since introducing RevX into their fleet, due solely to the high concentration of the right additives in this one-of-a-kind product. Oil analysis testing has also scientifically proven (over millions of real world use miles) a significant reduction in component wear (bearings, cylinders, cams, valve train and injectors). Adding RevX Performance Oil Additive to any quality lubricant will significantly enhance all functional characteristics of that product.
